Slaktade fyra kaniner igår.
Alla har fått samma mat, obegränsat med hö, pellets blandat med korn och en hel del morötter.
Två såg fina ut i tarmen, som ett "pärlband", en hade en gasbubbla på början av tjocktarmen och den sista svällde ut som en ballong när jag öppnade buken.
Det var de två största och även fetaste som hade gas i tarmen, jag tolkar detta som att det var det två glupskaste.
Det har blåst in en del snö i burarna och morötterna de äter har varit frusna. Kan detta påverka?
Djuren var drygt fem månader gamla och har inte haft magproblem tidigare.
Vi har haft riktigt kallt väder ca en vecka.
Vad kan vara problemet? Vad kan jag göra för att minska risken att de kvarvarande blir sjuka/får ont i magen?

I samband med slakten kan det sugas in luft "bakvägen" i tarmarna, så de ser gasfyllda ut. Så har jag tolkat fenomenet.

Kanske skulle kunna vara så, det har dock inte hänt tidigare.
Gasbubblorna var inte längst bak utan längre fram i tarmen och med normal avföring längre bak. Har svårt att tro att luft kunnat sugas in så långt och så mycket.
