Jag har tre gökfärgade maraner, då jag funderar på att skaffa en tupp till dem undrar jag om
man ska ha en tupp i samma färg eller annan färg. Är det viktigt att eventuella avkommor är färgrena?

Ska du bara äta äggen spelar ju inte färgen på djuren någon roll. Vill du sälja avelsägg eller kycklingar är det förmodligen lättare att sälja färgrent. Det fiffiga med att inte blanda in någon annan färg på dina gökfärgade Maraner är att du kan könssortera kycklingarna redan som väldigt små. Det kan ju också vara en fördel vid försäljning. Får du blandfärger så är inte det möjligt.
Om man nu inte vill bara göra F1 korsningar med Gökfärgade hönor. Sätter du en ex svart koppar tupp till dem kommer alla tupparna bli tvärstripiga och hönorna bli svarta eller möligtvis svart koppar... Men som sagt blandfärgade och inget som avlar rent i F2 generationen.

Vill du få igen lite pengar på dina höns så kör färgrent och satsa på så mörka ägg som möjligt. Ett väldigt sug efter dessa ägg nämligen. Hade kunnat sälja hur många Maranhöns, kycklingar och kläckägg som helst.
Nu har jag Kopparfärgen men får ofta frågan ang de gökfärgade så det finns nog inte så många såna, iaf inte som har rätt äggfärg.
