Funderade om detta skulle skrivas på Ruvning, kläckning eller på Utfodring, för det hör till båda. Men det får bli här.
Mina höns (dvärgkochin och dvärgwyandotte) har varit avställda över vintern.
Ingen belysning, ingen värme, menyn har bestått huvudsakligen av havre. Alltså (nästan) inga ägg. Och även (nästan) inget bråkande varken bland tuppar eller hönor. Lugnt och stillsamt.
De hönor jag främst har satt igång är dv.kochin.
För en månad sedan började jag så smått ge lite lyse på morgonen och ökade på proteinhalten i fodret gradvis. Nu är de uppe i full utfodring. Och precis som jag velat, nu sedan en vecka är nästan alla hönorna igång och värper.
Dessutom plockade jag för några veckor sedan bort alla tupparna till ett annat hus, och nästa steg är nu att sätta ihop grupper och kolla hur tupparna fungerar.

Med andra ord börjar det bli vår trots att vi hade -22 i morse - härligt :)
