Frågade detta tidigare i en annan tråd men fick inget svar så frågar i en ny egen tråd.
Har sett att en del av er har hönsluckan en bit upp från golvet i era hönshus. Finns det någon särksild anledning till det vad det gäller golvdrag osv.? Vad rekomenderas?
Ska snart till att såga ut för våran ut & ingång för hönsen, bäst att kolla innan jag sågar...

Ett skäl till att ha luckan en bit upp är att strömaterial på golvet inte följer med ut.
En annan fördel är att om man har kycklingar i flocken så kan dom inte hoppa ut förrän dom är tillräckligt stora. Så ruvhönan stannar inne med kycklingarna den första tiden.

En annat skäl är att äldre hus brukar ha en hög sten grund.
