Jag har en liten undran, färgen på Maranens ägg tycker jag är helt underbar ;D men lägger hönan dessa underbart bruna ägg om man har en annan tupp ? som då inte är Maran. Är det tuppen som styr vilken färg hönan har på äggen eller? knasig fråga kanske :/

Jag har en höna som är korsning mellan lohman och maran, och hennes ägg har en helt annan nyans än vad maranerna har. Det blir ju liksom en "utspädning" av färggenerna om du korsar maran med en ras som lägger normal-beige-bruna ägg.
Så nä, det är inte enbart tuppen eller enbart hönan som bär på generna för skalfärgen, utan det blir en blandning. ;)

Tuppen som parar maranhönan påverkar inte hennes äggfärg men han påverkar sina döttrars äggfärg.

Ok tack för svar, kanske jag ska fundera på att bygga en liten hönsgård till och hålla en ren linje då :D, få se om jag kan övertala mannen här hemma att ge mig ett hantag. ;)
