Tidigare i år har jag inte haft några problem med att kycklingarna råkar illa ut men nu helt plötsligt så har 1 försvunnit och den andra isamma kull blivit rejält hackad. Den hackade sitter just nu i mitt knä och tycker livet är bra men jag är ju inte någon höna. Iom att bägge kycklingarna i den kullen råkat illa ut så misstänker jag ju hönan själv. Hon saknar sin lilla men innan jag tog in den så var hon inte snäll utan den låg på rygg och hönan pickade på den medans den skrek förtvivlat. Detta kan ju berott på det färska röda blodet men som sagt har inte haft problem förut och jag såg hönan hacka/picka på den sist kläckta kycklingen som kom 2 dagar efter sitt äldre syskon. Den var då blodig på bägge vingarna.
Vad gör jag? Känns som om det finns 3 alternativ. Avliva (har inte lust), chansa på att hönan tar hand om den (vågar inte), låta den växa till sig lite till själv ine och sätta ut den bland de andra ungdjuren (är det vettigt och de andra är minst 2 veckor äldre). Kycklingen ifråga är bara 1 vecka gammal.

Jag hade låtit den stanna inne. Kan du inte försöka köpa en jämngammal kompis som den kan växa upp tillsammans med?

Kom just på en ny ide. Tror ni man kan få en ruvhöna att adoptera den? Jag har 3 hönor jag försöker få att sluta ruva då jag inte kan ha hur mycket kycklingar som helst. Den är som sagt fortfarande liten och ullig och hönorna är envisa, så det skulle lösa 2 problem.
