Hej!
Har en liten genbanksflock Skånska Blommehöns. 1 tupp & 8 höns. På sistone har tuppen börjat jaga bort och terrorisera en speciell höna. Han jagar henne, bestiger henne men fullföljer inte akten. Samtidigt rycker han hennes nackfjädrar och vingpennorna är väldigt slitna på ryggen. Hon är livrädd för honom och går ofta för sig själv eller gömmer sig. Nu har han utökat och börjat jaga en höna till. Han är helt enkelt elak mot dem. De andra hönsen behandlar han som vanligt. Det är en ung tupp, inte ens året gammal. Flocken kom tillsammans som tremånaderskycklingar nyårsdagen 2011 och har varit tillsammans sedan dess.
Vi ska utöka flocken med 6 höns till (tre- till fyramånaderskycklingar) men nu börjar jag bli orolig för hur det ska gå med ungdomarna när de kommer.
Ska jag ta bort honom och skaffa en ny tupp?

Tråkigt >:( visserligen är han ju inte gammal. Jag hade en gång en tupp som var lite ohövlig, men då var det typ bara att han roffade åt sig mat först innan damerna. ;D Fast han blev en gentleman med tiden. Som du beskriver det så hade jag nog satsat på en ny tupp :(
Det kanske är så att han bara är superpilsk ??? Jag har sett det beteendet hos mina ungtuppar hemma, en höna fick jag ha i bur ett tag för läkning, hon fick ett stort sår i huvudet pga alla påstigningar :( hon gick också för sig själv. Ungtuppar kan gå rätt hårt åt hönorna, spec jag som hade två. Dom hjälptes åt och turades om >:( stackars hönepöna. Tupparna hamnade på huggkubben, tyvärr. Det var två fina brahmor som jag inte blev av med.
Nu är hönepöna lugn igen och går med två kycklingar, fjädrarna på huvudet börjar växa ut :)

En sådan tupp skulle jag inte spara. Stor risk att han blir elak mot kycklingar också. Och tuppar finns det ju minst sagt gott om.

Provade att isolera honom i ett dygn men beteendet kvarstår. De 6 nya ungdomarna jagar han bort från jordbad och mat. Jag satsar på en ny tupp.
