Hej alla
Är ny på höns och fick igår naturruvade kycklingar.
Jag vill ha kycklingarna gående med den dom vuxna djuren men blev lite nervös för att kycklingarna skulle nalla av deras hela havre. Förstår dom av sig själva att det inte går att äta eller riskerar jag något genom att ha dem gående tillsammans? Kycklingarna når givetvis inte foderautomaten men mina spattiga höns är duktiga på att spilla på golvet.

Jag har inte haft några problem med att kycklingarna går med de vuxna. De får äta vad de vill av både hönsmat och det de hittar utomhus. Om man däremot vill ge kycklingarna extra protein eller lättuggad mat så kan man ta en låda med kycklingstora ingångar och servera kycklingmaten i, så inte de vuxna äter upp godiset.

När kycklingar kan pilla i sig hel havre är det OK att dom äter det. Vitsen med malen mat till kycklingar är när man föder upp dom inomhus och dom inte har chans att få sig sand/sten till muskelmagen. I sådana situationer måste vi ju "tugga maten" åt dem ;) Det är därför värpfoder är i princip mjöl... Det är främst avsett för hybrider och i fabrikerna bor dom ju endast inne....
Så oroa dig inte för dina kycklingars matvanor, är dom med morsan så ser hon till att dom får de dom behöver. Sedan är det ju ingen nackdel att ha en kycklingmatbar med kycklingmat som bara de små kommer åt ;)

Tack för svaren. Hönsamamman gav sig idag ut på äventyr med 8 ängsliga och endast 2 dygn gamla kycklingar. Det verkar som alla kom in välbehållna. Och det spillda havren verkar inte intressera dem.
