Jag hoppas det finns någon som uppskattar siten Woodgears (f.d. Woodworking for Engineers) lika mycket som jag gör.

ganska fantastiskt att tillverka snickerimaskiner på det sättet själv skulle jag vara livrädd då rörliga delar kan snurra otroligt snabbt, tänk om en sån hyvel skulle gå sönder då är det nog fara för livet.

Fantastisk sida med fantastiska maskiner för den händige hobbyisten. Wandel är något av ett geni och dessutom extremt pedagogisk.
Beträffande riskerna så borde dessa inte vara så mycket större än med vanliga maskiner. Eventuella skador kommer uppstå som resultat av oaktsamhet vid handhavande, inte vid katastrofala haverier av maskinen. Trä, MDF och plywood är hållbara material som, om man bara ser till att inspektera och underhålla dem säkert håller länge. Tricket är, antar jag, att dimensionera väl och sätta ihop ordentligt med rejäla bultar så att delarna aldrig har möjlighet att flexa och försvagas. Delarna blir inte oförstörbara som riktigt gjutjärn, men lätta och billiga att byta ut om det ser ut att behövas, för hörn och kanter kommer att skadas under användning.
Det största problemet som jag ser är att man måste samla ihop materialet och bygga själv..
