Jag har en liten undran hur jag förbered kohud bäst, så att den håller och inte ruttnar.
Hudbitarna skall användas som leksaker åt hundarna istället för alla konsttillverkade "kamprullar" av div. material så vill jag hålla det så naturligt som möjligt.
Kan jag enbart låta hudarna lufttorka i ett varmt rum ? Skalla jag behandla med någon olja, eller skall salt användas ?

Är det ett helt skinn obehandlat som du har? Om du ska använda det till tuggleksaker till hundarna bör du ta bort håret. Det gör du lättast genom att lägga det i strömmande vatten, alternativ ett kar med vatten som du byter ofta. Dra i håret och när du känner att det lossnar lätt, så ta upp det och skrapa av håret.
Till tugget föreslår jag att du sen klipper breda remsor och flätar medan huden är våt. Låt sen torka. Då blir det bra motstånd för hundarna, och gott.
Ska du däremot bereda skinnet till kläder eller liknande kan du söka i tråden efter olika garvningssätt. Själv braintannar jag bara.
