Jag har haft några dvärgkochinhönor som ruvat på både sina egna ägg och större hönsägg, samtidigt körde jag kläcken med både dvärgkochinägg och större ägg. Jag lät hönorna adoptera även de maskinkläckta kycklingarna och det gick bra. Nu är kycklingarna ca 2 veckor och dvärgkockinkycklingarna har droppat av en efter en. Klarar de inte konkurensen från de större kycklingarna? Är dvärgkochinkycklingar ovanligt känsliga? Har aldrig haft en dvärgras förut och har aldrig varit med om något liknande, det ligger en död kyckling där mest varenda dag. De har både tillgånga till hönorna som värmekälla och en värmelampa. Det är endast dvärgkochin som dör.

Dvärgkochin är lugna och stillsamma, det avspeglar sig även på kycklingarna. De har troligen svårt att hävda sig bland större och livligare kyckilngar. Jag har någon enstaka gång haft mina två raser i samma kull, och W-kycklingarna springer omkring både runt och även ÖVER K-kycklingarna, som ju har mycket kortare ben och inte är snabba.

Ja, det verkar faktiskt som om de blir ihjältrampade under hönorna. Tragiskt, nu är det endast 3 kvar :(. Flyttar dem till ett säkrare ställe. Nu vet jag i alla fall att det är dumt att blanda stora och dvärg, har inte hört talas om det innan.
