Jag ser i ko-annonser lite då och då "e" "u" och "ue", angående härstamning. "e" antar jag står för "far", "u" för "mor" och "ue" för morfar. Men jag undrar om det är så man vanligen skriver? När det gäller nöt? Jag har fått för mig att det är hästfolk som skriver så. Och vad katten står bokstäverna för egentligen?

Kan inte svara för just kor, men vad gäller hästar står U för "undan" ( INTE under) och E står för "efter" ;D

Okej, jag ÄR dum i huvet. "Efter" förstår jag, men "Undan"? Och det är alltså både hos hundar och hästar man skriver så.

Även jag tycks vara dum i huvet då. "Undan" och sen moderns namn, samt "efter" och så ett hingstnamn. Kul att det (numera?) används även för andra djurslag. Men jag har mest sett beteckningarna M, F, MF osv.

Ja, det är och har nog varit vanligast hos hästar vid tal om stamtavlor och vid registrering. I SKKs hundregbevis står "far", "mor" etc, samt även i deras internetregister. Så det är nog från hästfolk som det börjats användas "efter" och "undan" på hund.
